The following classes are for young artists (Ages 3 - 6). Parents are encouraged to stay and create with your
child. Younger siblings are welcome to "tag along." We will be exploring different media and having fun while
creating art. These classes are designed to give your child experience with drawing, cutting (scissors), gluing,
tracing & painting. No experience required! Please bring a smock or art shirt.

Young artists progress very quickly through different stages & skill levels. It's important for very young artists to
be allowed to explore each medium and what it feels like to use it. For many artists this includes scribbling,
learning to cut paper by cutting it to shreds & little pieces, layering on paint, playing in paint (finger painting,
whole hand & arms!), and using lots of glue. We feel that these learning activities are vital to the progression
of each child's artistic skills and their sense of freedom & enjoyment while creating. In these early years we want
children to have fun while creating, rather than emphasizing the look of the finished product.
