Policies

Thank you for registering your student in a class or camp with The Drawing Board Art Instruction.

We look forward to working with your student as he/she continues to develop their artistic skills through drawing and painting.  We have found that skill progression happens when a student practices their drawing or painting skills at home on a regular basis.  We encourage all students to keep a sketchbook and to draw in it often.

Mission Statement

Inspiring creative self-expression, self-confidence and a sense of community while children and families learn to draw from real life.

Our Philosophy

Every student progresses at their own pace and every skill level is an important part of their artistic development.  Students should not be discouraged or rushed through any stage of their artistic development.

Our classes are based on the theory that learning how to draw or paint is a combination of good hand-eye coordination paired with good observation skills.  A working knowledge of how to use a chosen form of media is also important.   Repeated exposure to the different forms of media (pastels, watercolor, charcoal, etc) along with an interest in their own artistic development will strengthen a student’s artistic skills and confidence.  (Practice, Practice, Practice!)  Drawing from real-life objects will help students improve their observations skills and encourage them to find their own artistic style.
