All classes are open to students age 6 and older, unless noted.  Students may attend the classes individually or parents/guardians may enroll in the classes with their children.  Classes are held at:

Botanical Illustration

As of Wed. June 18, this class will be cancelled unless more students sign up.  Call Revolution Gallery to register.

Students will create flower journals with drawings of many flowers.  We will use color pencil, pen & ink, & watercolor to draw wild flowers, cut flowers and flowers from our gardens.  We will also go on a nature walk around Gilman Village, drawing flowers as we go.  This is a 4-week class.  All art materials provided.

Fashion Illustration

This class is for students who love fashion.  Students will learn to draw fabric and clothes from life.  Students will draw and model for each other wearing a variety of clothes.  Students will learn how to do quick sketches and basic human proportions.  students will draw from fashion magazines and will design and make sketches of their own fashion ideas at the end of the class.  All art materials provided.  Students may be asked to bring in favorite clothing items.

Beginning Drawing (Age 6 - 11)

We will introduce the basic principals of drawing, using line and  shading.   Each student will progress at their own pace while learning to draw from real-life objects and photographs.  No experience necessary.  Pencil, charcoal and chalk will be used.  All art materials provided.   (This is the first class for the 2008/2009 school year.)

Intermediate Drawing (Age 11 - 18)

Students who have an interest in expanding their drawing skills (and love to draw) should attend this class!  We will continue with the basics of line and shodow work, and delve into perspective, texture and composition.  Students will be expected to use a sketchbook at home while in this class.  This is the first class for the 2008/2009 school year.  Pencil, color pencil, pen & ink, and chalk pastel.  All art materials provided.  No art class experience necessary- just an interest in art!

Drawing with Color (Age 6 - 11)

Drawing becomes fun when you add color!  Students will create color wheels, learn about primary, secondary and complimentary colors.  Students will learn to blend and layer colors while drawing from objects, still-lives, and photographs!  Color pencil and chalk pastel.  All art materials provided.

Still-Life Studies (Age 11 - 18)

This is the continuation of the Intermediate Drawing Class.  Students will create still-lifes using different styles (Realistic, Impressionist, Cubism, Modern, etc... )   Discussion about each style, and some art history will be introduced.  Color pencil, pen & ink, chalk pastel, watercolor, and acrylic paint may be used.   All art materials provided. 

  Students will display artwork in a holiday art show during month of December.
